About me

Designersphoto

Being a professional designer for well over 10 years in Belfast has helped me understand photography from a different perspective. This background enables me to see the photographs, whilst I am taking them, from a designers point of view, to best leave space for headlines and logos etc, enabling each element to breathe on the final production.

Photography is an art.

It’s about finding extra-ordinary

in an ordinary place.

Currently, I am a full-time graphic designer and photographer for Queen’s University, Belfast. Here, I get to work on a wide range of things, from the main prospectus, to campaigns and events.

Photography all started on Instagram, where I now have 4,000+ followers (no buying followers or bots involved – completely organic). Along the way, I have won a couple of competitions and even hung in a few galleries.

Since this is my website – I will show you some of the stuff that I take for fun, that has brought me to this point in my photographic career.

This shot above won first place on Wex’s weekly Photographer of the year competition on Twitter. That year, I came joint 6th overall and was displayed in a gallery in Shoreditch, London for a few weeks and had flown over for the opening show. It also was the cover of Culture NI’s programme and I had an interview with them about how I got started in the design/photography world.

Check out my interview here.

Let's talk

I love nothing more than a creative challenge.
We might have a lot more in common than you think.
