It all started with a mobile phone and Instagram. Now I have been very privileged to have freelanced some amazing companies in Belfast, taking promotional photos – from resturant/food shoots, to pop-up garden rooms, to arenas, to political events and product shots.
Power of Video is an incredible experience for those in the video and social media world. The guys at PoV fly in speakers from all over the globe to talk about what they do, how they do, what motivates and encourages them, giving those who go, an insight into the exciting and diverse lives of online creators and professionals in the video industry. There 3 day long event holds masterclasses, as well as the talks, which I was there to photograph, along with all of the backstage antics. This was a load of fun.
See Sense is an amazing, high-end bike light company with an incredible, game-changing product. They had asked me to take a few photos for them of their product on the streets of Belfast. We headed out with a few bikers, all kitted up with the best gear possible. Here are a couple of shots from the night. Check them out – they’re a great bunch!
I got to hang out with the genius behind Donard Bikes and photograph him while he does the thing he does best. Build carbon bikes from scratch. It’s not an easy task, but Owen does it VERY well.
Victory Chimp are an awesome local business that make pretty sweet looking bike attire. If you like being very visible in very stylish clothes, that even include a banana holder in the tops, then look no further.
Timothy Smyth Hair Design is a very popular, high-end salon in the heart of Bangor, and my job was to capture the beauty and details of the salon.
Garden Rooms NI are a unique company specialising in building garden pods which can be sun rooms, studios, whatever you need them to be. After being at their show room taking these photos, I left with the feeling my own garden had something missing. They are incredible. I had organised the shoot for just around sunset, so when I got all my stuff set up, we were into blue hour when the light is perfect for shooting this kind of thing – not too bright, not too dark. I had great fun working with these guys!
There is something extremely satisfying about going out in the freezing cold with an idea for a company, bringing it to life and showing them the finished piece and them to love it and want more. It’s so rewarding!
